Formed in Paris in 2011, the rock band Grand Blanc, whose music is heavily influenced by the 80s new wave sound from bands like Joy Division and The Cure, will perform on December 3 at the Youth Theatre in Hanoi.
The concert is part of the European Music Festival, which is staging a series of enchanting concerts November 18-December 3 at the Youth Theatre and Vietnam National Academy of Music in Hanoi and the Conservatory of Music in Ho Chi Minh City.
This annual cultural event is the result of a collaborative effort of the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam, Embassies of EU Member States and European Cultural Institutes.
The European Music Festival brings together musical talents from the EU and aims at reaching a diversified audience with a highly-diversified repertoire in celebration of the rich and diverse European culture.
In this the 15th edition of the festival, Vietnamese audiences will once again have an opportunity to enjoy first-rate performances by artists from Austria, Belgium (Wallonia-Brussel), France, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Sweden.
With a total of sixteen concerts in both cities, the Festival invites artists and audiences of all ages to experience music in established and conventional settings, to explore the combination of classic and contemporary rhythms.
Admission to all the concerts is free of charge.
