VietNamNet Bridge – The Oscar winning film “Indochine” directed by Regis Wargnier has been re-screened in Vietnam in 4K resolution on the occasion of the 4th Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF).

The movie, which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 65th Academy Awards in 1992, has been made available at cinemas nationwide since November 4, according to the Green Media Company.

The film, set in colonial French Indochina in the 1930s, tells a story about Éliane Devries (Catherine Deneuve), the owner of a plantation and her Vietnamese adopted daughter, Camille (Pham Linh Dan) who was born into a Vietnamese royal family. The two women both fall in love with a young French naval officer named Jean-Baptiste Le Guen (Vincent Perez).

The National Cinema Center, and L’Espace in Hanoi, and Galaxy Cinema Nguyen Du, and Cinestar in HCMC are showing the movie.
