French-Vietnam musician Nguyen Le (R) to tour in Vietnam

The programme will feature the participation of Vietnamese artists Ngo Hong Quang, Alex Tran, Nguyen Hoang Anh, Nguyen Mai Le, Nguyen Duc Minh and Diva My Linh.

On his Vietnam tour this time, he will present his new album, “Hanoi Duo.” The album is a collaboration with Vietnamese artist Ngo Hong Quang.

Meanwhile, artist Ngo Hong Quang is a trained traditional musician. He has studied traditional instruments and composition in Vietnam and abroad.

He has a good background in different music genres and a deep knowledge of music schools.

Music pieces in the albums are composed based on Vietnamese folkloric music and performed in different styles.

Listeners will be interested in a piece by Quang inspired by ethnic Tay music, played on an electronic guitar and influenced by the North African style of music.

Another, xam, based on the popular folk music in the north of Vietnam, is performed in the blues style.

As an internationally acclaimed jazz guitarist and a recipient of the Django Reinhardt Prize, Nguyen Le breathes new life into the common definition of “fusion” by combining jazz with world music.

He has released some 17 albums. He collaborated with overseas Vietnamese singer Huong Thanh for two albums—“Tales from Vietnam” in 1996 and “Fragile Beauty” in 2007.

In 2011, he produced “Doc dao” (“Unique Path”), for which he teamed up with A-list singer Tung Duong.

The programme will be held at the L'Espace French Cultural Centre in Hanoi on February 24 and 25, at 8pm.

The duo also performs in Hue on February 28 and Ho Chi Chi Minh City on March 1.

Tickets from VND300,000 to VND500,000 have been available at L’Espace since January 24.
