The tour, jointly organised by the French Institute in Hanoi (Institut Français de Hanoï) and Nha Nam Culture and Communication Joint Stock Company, is expected to help Vietnamese readers take part in exchanges with world famous writer.

A series of four exchanges will start on March 16 at the Vietnam National Library, 31 Trang Thi street, Hanoi.

Three days later, he will then travel to central Thua Thien-Hue province to prepare for another exchange with local readers at the French Institute in Hue.

The French writer is set to hold an exchange with students of University of Foreign Language Studies on March 20 in Da Nang.

His tour will then end in Ho Chi Minh City where he will take part in an exchange with readers on March 21 at the Institute of Cultural Exchange with France (IDECAF).

Werber, 63, has been a French science fiction writer since the 1990s. He is well-known for having written the trilogy Les Fourmis, the only one of his novels to have been published in English. This series weaves together philosophy, spirituality, science fiction, thriller, science, mythology, and consciousness.

With a total of 15 million books sold worldwide, Werber is one of the most famous contemporary French writers.

He won the hearts of many readers around the world, especially in the Republic of Korea, where the number of readers of his books ranks second, behind those reading Japanese writer Haruki Murakami’s books.
