Vietnam’s dairy makers are accessing more opportunities to increase exports, but companies need to enhance their competitiveness in foreign markets and develop a concentrated production scale.
Vietnamese consumers buy on average 24 kilograms of dairy products each year, much lower than that in the region. Domestic materials can only satisfy 35 percent of demand, indicating that the figures show the fresh milk market still has potential.
VietNamNet Bridge - Vinamilk is leading the domestic fresh milk market, but is now being challenged by newcomers.
It is estimated that 70 percent of the liquid dairy products available on the market is reconstituted milk, made of milk powder.
VietNamNet Bridge – The turnover from liquid milk products in 2012 reached VND15.5 trillion, which was 10 times higher than the revenue from powder milk.
