The inflation pressure eased significantly in August on Government efforts to bring down petrol prices although prices of other goods and services kept increasing, according to the General Statistics Office.

This year’s favorable weather is believed to support fishermen. However, the fishing boats of the big groups in the sea city of Hai Phong still have been staying ashore because the ship owners cannot find seamen.
Fuel wholesalers can extract up to VND2,000 for each liter of gasoline and VND650-1,150 for every liter of oil from the price stabilization fund to cover their losses and keep the current retail prices unchanged.
