The coach named veterans such as Nguyen Bao Quan, Tran Long Vu, Phung Trong Luan, Nguyen Minh Tri and Nguyen Van Huy.

He also included Ngo Dinh Thuan, Dang Phi Tien and Co Tri Kiet who played outstandingly in the second leg of the recent National Futsal Championship.

Garcia also added four raw recruits including Nguyen Manh Dung and Vu Ngoc Lan into his team.

The team convened yesterday (April 11) in HCM City’s Thai Son Nam Sports Centre before leaving for Japan.

Viet Nam will play Japan on April 22 and Uzbekistan one day later.

Viet Nam knocked out reigning champion Japan in the quarter-final round of the AFC Futsal Championship on February 17 in Uzbekistan, qualifying for the World Cup in Colombia from September 10 to October 1.
