Anyone who joins the tour will learn about the area’s development from the early days of Hanoi through the French period to the present time, hear some of its eclectic stories and history, notes on theatre and the cinema and the former ‘lives’ of some familiar and not-so-familiar buildings. The organiser hopes tourists will discover things they didn’t know about these well-known streets and buildings.
A simple but detailed route will take the tour group from the steps of the Opera House, down Trang Tien towards Hoan Kiem Lake, onto Hang Bai, towards Ham Long and back up to Ba Trieu and Hang Khay with a few interesting hidden diversions on the way. The tour will take place from 9.30am to 11.30am. Fee: VND70,000.
