An art exhibition, featuring 60 latest pottery works and paintings with the theme of roosters, is opened to the audience in the capital city of Hanoi on January 13 to welcome the Lunar New Year 2017, Vietnamplus reports.

Some artworks which will be displayed at the upcoming exhibition in Hanoi. 


This is the third consecutive year artists of G39 group have hosted an exhibition with the theme on the mascot of a lunar new year. The Lunar New Year 2017 is Year of the Rooster. The forthcoming exhibition is expected to have more artworks and more genres and materials, compared to the two previous events.

Apart from oil-on-canvas, lacquer, ink, paper and silk paintings, the exhibition also features pottery products with lively rooster decoration patterns.

A representative from the organizing committee said that the artists wish to create an art life for a rooster besides its functions of a pet or an offering. Rooster is a popular theme for paintings and print artworks of Vietnamese people on every Tet celebration.



At the opening ceremony, artists will create artworks to present to visitors.

Artists joining the exhibition include Nguyen Quoc Thai, Do Dung, Nguyen Quang Thieu, Le Thiet Cuong, Tao Linh, Tran Gia Tung, Ngo Thi Binh Nhi, Nguyen Hong Phuong, Hoang Thi Phuong Lien, Pham Long Quan, Nguyen Quoc Thang, Le Duc Hiep, Le Phan Hien, Pham Tran Quan, Ngoc Diep, Nguyen Hong Quang, Nguyen Minh, Nguyen Thanh Hai, Nguyen Nhu Duc, Vu Tuyen, Nguyen Phan Bach, Nguyen Dinh Vu, Xuan Dem, and Nguyen Viet Anh.

The exhibition will take place at Hang Da Trade Center at 1 Hang Da Street in Hanoi.
