With only days remaining before the next Galaxy Unpacked event, a growing number of leaks suggest Samsung may still have an unrevealed feature in store for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.

After months of rumors surrounding specifications, an improved hinge and a redesigned form factor, a new report claims the South Korean technology company is also developing an entirely new camera feature called Mirror View.

If the reports prove accurate, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra may stand out not only because of upgraded hardware but also by offering Samsung's most advanced and versatile foldable camera system to date.

A new camera feature called Mirror View

According to a report that surfaced online on July 13, Samsung is developing a previously unknown camera feature called Mirror View, which is expected to debut as part of One UI 9.

A report from SamMobile suggests the feature is being designed specifically for Samsung's next-generation foldable smartphones, including the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 and, in particular, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.

Initially, Mirror View is expected to be exclusive to new devices before potentially expanding to older foldable models through future software updates.

What makes Mirror View particularly intriguing is that almost nothing is currently known about how it works.

The report does not specify whether it is intended for photography, video recording or an entirely new camera experience.

However, the fact that several technology news outlets have reported on the feature suggests it may be more than an unfounded rumor.

The lack of details has fueled growing curiosity among Samsung fans ahead of the official unveiling of the company's new foldable lineup.

Alongside Mirror View, One UI 9 is also expected to introduce several improvements to Samsung's Camera app.

One reported enhancement would allow users to disable the Camera app's automatic shutdown after a period of inactivity - a behavior some users find inconvenient when preparing to take photos.

Samsung is also rumored to add a 1/60-second minimum shutter speed option in Photo mode, expanding beyond the current choices of 1/30, 1/120, 1/500 and 1/1000 second.

In addition, the company is reportedly planning to expand language support within the Camera Assistant app, enabling more users worldwide to access camera controls in their native languages.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra could further raise the bar for foldable photography

Samsung has long been regarded as one of the smartphone industry's leaders in camera technology.

Its Galaxy Ultra models consistently receive strong reviews for image quality, zoom capabilities and AI-powered image processing.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is currently considered by many reviewers to be among the best camera smartphones available and regularly ranks near the top of smartphone camera comparisons.

If the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra launches with both upgraded camera hardware and new software features such as Mirror View, Samsung could further strengthen its position in the premium smartphone market.

Such an upgrade would also represent an important milestone for foldable smartphones, which have traditionally been viewed as lagging behind conventional flagship devices in photography performance.

Much of the attention surrounding Samsung's upcoming foldables had previously focused on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 because of its redesigned appearance.
