VietNamNet Bridge – In interminable cold, gardeners have to warm imported flowers to stimulate them to blossom for the lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.

At Hanoi’s Nghi Tam flower village, flowers are carried to “blossom stimulating rooms” at night.

Water-rail pots imported from China are still green. Gardeners cover
them by plastic pieces and warm by electric lamps.

“Blossom stimulating rooms” are blazing every night along the road of West Lake.

“Flowers” of trang nguyen trees are leaves so they don’t need any special stimulation
to blossom but they require adequate heat.

Gardeners “save” flowers every night to serve Tet.

Narcissus
is also imported from China, without flowers. Gardeners have to
make figures, provide humidity and heat to stimulate them to blossom.

It is the most difficult to take care of narcissus. “It is a big success to save a
nd sell 80 percent of my trees in this weather,” this man said.

Trees can blossom after several days of being warmed.
