Recently, in a congratulatory message to President To Lam on his election, Chinese President Xi Jinping highlighted the strong and friendly ties between China and Vietnam, describing the two socialist neighbors as sharing a deep connection.

Last December, during President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Vietnam, the two nations announced their intention to build a Vietnam-China Community with a Shared Future of strategic significance, signaling a new chapter in the relationship between the two Parties and countries.

The Chinese leader expressed his readiness to work alongside General Secretary To Lam to deepen the construction of this shared future, enhance traditional friendship, strengthen political trust, and foster strategic exchanges and substantive cooperation. These efforts aim to bring greater happiness to the people of both nations and contribute positively to global peace and progress.

In recent years, the relationship between the two countries has achieved significant milestones: high-level exchanges and interactions have been robustly promoted, and economic, trade, and investment cooperation continues to be a highlight in bilateral relations. Vietnam has risen to become China's fifth-largest trading partner based on national rankings.

Local cooperation and people-to-people exchanges have been dynamic and effective, helping to solidify the social foundation of bilateral relations.

During a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo in June, President To Lam emphasized the need for both sides to work towards elevating bilateral relations to new heights, making them increasingly substantive and effective, with an eye towards the important milestone in 2025, marking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China.
