At the invitation of Finnish President Alexander Stubb, General Secretary To Lam and his spouse, accompanied by a high-level Vietnamese delegation, will pay an official visit to Finland from October 20 to 22.
The announcement was made by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang during the ministry’s regular press briefing this afternoon.
Finland has long been a friendly and reliable partner of Vietnam.
Politically and diplomatically, the two countries maintain regular exchanges of delegations at all levels and cooperate closely in multilateral forums, especially within the frameworks of the United Nations, ASEAN, and the European Union.
Economic, trade, and investment ties between Vietnam and Finland continue to grow positively.
Cooperation in national defense, security, education and training, agriculture, environment, culture, people-to-people exchanges, tourism, and local partnerships have also developed favorably.
During the upcoming visit, General Secretary To Lam is expected to hold talks with Finnish President Alexander Stubb and meet with the Prime Minister of Finland, the First Deputy Speaker of the Finnish Parliament, and the Chairman of the Communist Party of Finland.
He will also meet with several prominent Finnish businesses and participate in other key diplomatic engagements.
