VietNamNet Bridge - A Moscow-bound Aeorflot flight was delayed at Berlin airport Monday due to a hoax bomb threat, with a German newspaper speculating it could have been an attempt to stop the deportation of 45 Vietnamese without documents.
Germany’s Federal Ministry of the Interior said the 45 were aboard the plane for deportation back to Russia, and the Berliner Morgenpost newspaper said without citing evidence that that could have been the reason for the threat.
The SU 112 aircraft was about to leave Schoenefeld airport when the threat was faxed to several German news agencies.
After authorities were informed of the threat, the 140 passengers on board were evacuated and then searched along with their luggage.
A security team with sniffer dogs also conducted a search but no explosives were found.
The plane took off after a five-hour delay.
