During their visit they will attend the 132nd Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) General Assembly set for March 28-April 1 in Hanoi and participate in a German-Vietnam Political Dialogue.

In making the announcement, at a press briefing on January 21, German Ambassador to Vietnam Jutta Frasch extended an invitation to President Truong Tan Sang to visit Germany later this year on behalf of President Joachim Gauck.

This year, Germany hopes to continue to strengthen high-level economic dialogues with Vietnam and support the country in key fields such as vocational training, environment protection and green growth, Frasch revealed.

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties, the ambassador said the Goethe Institute plans to organise a series of cultural events, particularly a German Film Festival in September.
