The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Hanoi is planning a concert tour in the nation together with the Karlsruhe concert duo of Mr Reinhard Armleder (cello) and Ms Dagmar Hartmann (piano), with performances taking place in Hanoi, Hue, and in Binh Duong, as well as master classes in Hanoi.

The concert tour is scheduled to run from September 3 to September 6 and will be a festive event for a wide audience. The concerts will get underway at the Vietnam National Academy of Music in Hanoi on September 3, at the Hue Music Academy on September 5, and finally at the auditorium of the German-Vietnamese University in Binh Duong on September 6.

The programme includes classical music from different countries and eras, including works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Robert Schumann, César Franck, Maurice Ravel, and Manuel de Falla.

Furthermore, the concert duo will hold three master classes for the students of the Vietnam National Academy of Music in Hanoi on September 4, thus making a significant contribution to the musical education of young local talents.

In view of the outstanding role of classical music as part of cultural exchange, the project will make a valuable contribution to further boosting ties with Vietnam. Admission to the three concerts in Hanoi, Hue, and Binh Duong is free of charge.

The Karlsruhe concert duo, founded back in 1999 by the cellist Reinhard Armleder and pianist Dagmar Hartmann is very successful and in demand in both Germany and abroad. The ensemble has since established itself by winning several international competitions in Italy and France.

The duo has performed in more than 80 countries on all continents and has enjoyed success at prestigious stages and concert series like the Beethoven Society Washington, the Schubert Society London/Great Britain, Verbier-Festival/Switzerland, Festival de Musique aux Château de Bourglinster/Luxembourg, and Festival Art November Moscow/Russia.
