Michael Waibel, leader of some leading urban development projects at the geography faculty at Hamburg University and an expert with 20 years studying urban areas in Vietnam, will launch a book titled “HCMC - Mega City in early October in Vietnam.
The book highlights HCMC as the most dynamic economic center of the country and one of the mega cities in Asia.
Waibel wants to give readers an insight into HCMC as a promised land for migrants and those who have a strong desire to change their lives.
In the book published by Hong Duc Publishing House, readers can find over 450 pictures of contemporary Saigon and introductions and narratives in both English and Vietnam.
Michael Waibel and Do Phu Hung, head of the faculty of urban zoning of the HCMC University of Architecture, will share their views on different issues to develop a sustainable city in Vietnam and stories on garbage and flooding in HCMC at an exchange on October 9 at 10 a.m. at Salon Ca phe thu 7, 19B Pham Ngoc Thach Street, District 3, HCMC.
