A scene from the movie

The film by Norbert Lechner is a story of an unusual friendship between Vietnamese sisters Linh and Tien and the adventurous Pauline.

Eleven-year-old Linh and her little sister Tien are suddenly left alone in Germany when their mother has to leave for Vietnam in order to care for the sick grandmother. Of course, no one is supposed to find out, especially not child protective services.

Linh is not only responsible for Tien but also for the household and her mother’s Vietnamese diner, and  she also has to go to school. But Linh’s biggest problem is Pauline who lives across the street. She has the whole neighbourhood under surveillance and can’t imagine anything cooler than a life without parents.

When Pauline blackmails the Vietnamese sisters into starting a gang with her, the three girls set off on a daring adventure, with the police and Ms Trost from child protective services on their trail…
