VietNamNet Bridge – On the morning of May 8, the police force of Gia Lai province and mobile police force of the Central Highlands arrested 62 people, who are accused of conducting anti-government activities.
The same day, Gia Lai Police Agency prosecuted these people for “taking Ha Mon heresay to carry out Fulro activities against the government.”
The arrestees are residents of Kret Krot, Kdung 1 and Bo Chack villages in the two communes of H’ra and Mang Yang.
According to investigators, Runh, 32, from Kret Krot village, is the leader of this group. This man confessed to call for people of the three above villages to set up their own state for people in the Central Highlands, with a man named Ksor Kok, as their president.
This group is also accused of forcing villagers to join their organization and illegally collecting money of villagers.
Police also seized a lot of knives, spears, scimitars, fences, etc. which are said to be weapons used to resist against law enforcement forces.
Investigators said that this group’s anti-government activities caused serious chaos in the area and in Gia Lai province.
Security agencies are further investigating the case.
