The bridge in Vietnam's Son La Province has become the longest glass-bottomed bridge in world.

The Guinness World Records on May 28 handed over the certificate to a representative of the Son La People's Committee.

The 630m Bach Long pedestrian bridge spans two peaks and is suspended 150 metres above the rainforest. It breaks the current world record held in China by more than 100 metres.

Bach Long bridge is part of the Moc Chau Island Tourist Complex invested by Tour 26 Moc Chau Joint Stock Company.

The floor of the bridge is made from French-produced tempered glass Saint Gobain and the structure can hold 450 people at a time.

Construction for the bridge started in early 2021 with a total investment of 773 billion VND (33.2 million USD). It is open for visitors on April 30 this year.

Once completed, the project will contribute to providing more entertainment and resort services, attracting more tourists to  Moc Chau national tourist area and creating jobs for about 500 local workers.
