Leaders from China, Cuba, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and Russia have congratulated Vietnam on the 85th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) on February 3.

In its congratulatory message, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) expressed its belief that under the leadership of the CPV led by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Vietnam will successfully realise its renovation cause and welcome the 12 th National Party Congress.

The CPC has always held the China – Vietnam relationship in high esteem and considers it a common precious asset of the two Parties, countries and peoples, it said.

It pledged to push the bilateral friendship forward, under the motto “friendly neighbours, comprehensive cooperation, long-term stability and future visions” and the spirit of “good neighbours, good friends, good comrades and good partners”.

First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, President of the Council of State and President of the Council of Ministers Raul Castro Ruz also conveyed the warmest congratulations to leaders, Party members and the people of Vietnam.

He said he looks forward to collaboration to boost socialism, build the Party, and foster fraternal ties between the two Parties, governments and peoples.

First Secretary of the Workers’ Party of the DPRK Kim Jong-un confidently stated that the friendship and cooperation between the two Parties and peoples, fostered by generations of leaders, will work progressively for the victory of socialism.

President of the United Russia Party D.A. Medvedev, who is also Prime Minister, said the CPV has been a consistent leadership force in the Vietnamese society.

He said he believes broader coordination between the United Russia Party and the CPV will surely further solidify the Russia – Vietnam comprehensive strategic partnership.

International celebrations of Party founding anniversary

Vietnamese representative agencies overseas are commemorating the 85th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).

On February 3, the Vietnam Embassy in Laos held receptions for Lao top officials, who conveyed their congratulatory messages and highlighted the robust development of the traditional relationship and solidarity between the two countries’ governments, parties and people.

The same day, a meeting was organised in Seoul, the Republic of Korea, in recognition of the holiday to discuss the outcomes from CPV activities last year as well as 2015 tasks, including preparations for the 12th National Party Congress .

Earlier, the Vietnam Embassies in Tokyo, Japan, and Algeria celebrated the anniversary, reviewing the 85 glorious years of building and developing the political organisation.

The birth of the CPV on February 3, 1930 constitutes an important historical event and a significant turning point in the history of the Vietnamese revolution, marking a milestone in the country’s development path.

Under the Party’s leadership, the Vietnamese people successfully carried out the August Revolution in 1945 and the 1975 Spring Offensive, entering a new chapter of development.

Party founding anniversary celebrated abroad

Vietnamese representative agencies in foreign countries have celebrated the 85th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930-2015).

The Vietnam Embassy in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland held a ceremony in London on February 3.

Addressing the event, Ambassador Nguyen Van Thao reviewed the 85 glorious years of building and developing the Party.

The same day, a delegation of representatives from the Vietnam Embassy, the Vietnamese Business Association in Singapore and the Vietnamese community laid down a wreath of flowers in tribute to the late President Ho Chi Minh at his statue in front of the Asian Civilisations Museum.

The statue of President Ho Chi Minh was inaugurated on May 20, 2008 to mark his arrival to the country in 1933.
