Many fans feel worried about the team's preparation after their 3-1 defeat by Long An on Friday in a match marred by poor performances.
Although the team also drew 1-1 against First Division team Dong Nai five days previously, Goetz remains optimistic about Wednesday's match.
"I think the most important thing is that we have a fresh team on Wednesday dead set on beating Macau," the German said.
Viet Nam will take on Macau in the first round of Asian Zone World Cup qualifiers at Thong Nhat Stadium in HCM City on Wednesday before travelling to Macau four days later.
Goetz will be hoping to get off to a good start when Viet Nam meet Macao.
"We have trained hard during the past ten days and we are getting better and better," the coach confirmed.
Viet Nam have yet to qualify for the World Cup.
