The Hanoi People’s Committee handed over 132,000sq.m of land in Thanh Xuan district
to the Vina Megastar JS Company in March 2011 to build the Nhan Chinh Park. This plot
of land fronts Hoang Minh Giam, Le Van Luong and Khuat Duy Tien roads.
However, the investor has not implemented the project. This golden land has still been
left unused for 12 months. The Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment
has proposed to withdraw the license of the Vina Megastar to give it to the
Thanh Xuan District People’s Committee.
Very close to this plot of land is a 50,000sq.m land on Tran Duy
Hung road that is fenced and left for grass growing.
From above, part of this vast land that fronts four big roads is used as a football ground
and a parking lot. The remaining area is unused.
The Nam Dan Plaza was previously advertised as a project to build complex of a five-star hotel,
a financial-banking center, an entertainment center and a shopping mall with total
investment of VND1.5 trillion ($75 million), on nearly 10,000sq.m.
At present, after torn advertising panels, are construction material shops,
a garage and small football grounds.
This plot of land was hired by a private company in 2006. After two times of
changing investors, this land is still fallowed.
The 5,000sq.m plot of land of the Vietcombank in Cau Giay
district has not been used for four years.
The Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment has asked
Cau Giay district authorities to withdraw the land.
According to a recent survey by the Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment,
there are 19 unused plots of land at nice positions in Cau Giay, Thanh Xuan, Tay Ho and
Tu Liem district, totaling more than 300,000sq.m. In addition, ten plots of land totaling nearly
160,000sq.m are used for wrong purposes.
Hanoi’s Vice Chair Vu Hong Khanh instructed relevant agencies
to check the implementation of construction projects in the city
and report to the city before August 15.
At the same time, hundred villas worth a million of USD in the new residential areas
of My Dinh, Co Nhue, Phap Van, Viet Hung, Linh Dam and Le Van Luong
have not been used for 5-6 years in Hanoi.
According to the Hanoi People’s Committee, by the end of June 2012, there were 655 villas
and 574 big houses in new residential areas were fallowed. These houses are already built
but they are not decorated yet. The city will combine with the Finance Ministry to consider
measures to deal with this. The owners of these fallow houses will be fined or taxed.
