From August 16 to 21, 2020, the High Command of Coast Guard Region 3 held the Good Ship and Vehicle Contest – Vessel Training Festival 2020 in the provinces of Khanh Hoa and Ba Ria - Vung Tau. 

The good ship contest includes four contents: entire ship, weapon, electronic and electromechanical weapons. The vessel training festival includes 8 contents: entire ship, marine, weapons, electronic weapons, electromechanical, commanding, politics, and logistics. The form of exam includes: theory test and practice; check at the station; operation over the entire ship and operation at each position and location, specifically and closely.

From August 16 to 21, 2020, the High Command of Coast Guard Region 3 held the Good Ship and Vehicle Contest – Vessel Training Festival 2020 in the provinces of Khanh Hoa and Ba Ria - Vung Tau.

According to Senior Lieutenant Colonel Pham Thanh Dan - Deputy Chief of the General Staff for Military Training, Deputy Head of the Standing Organizing Committee of the Contest: The motto and guiding ideology of this year's contest and festival is “Honesty, objectivity, solidarity and learning from each other”.

The exam contents are aimed at evaluating the results of breakthrough performance in training; in implementing the campaign "Managing and exploiting weapon, technical equipment in a durable, safe, economical ways along with ensuring traffic safety"; the results of building the model "Regular and exemplary ships". This is also a good opportunity to improve the capacity, qualifications, awareness, commanding and operating ability of the ship's staff in training, the combat readiness; the organization and implementation of the maintenance and repair of weapons and technical equipment on ships.

Captain Trinh Dinh Ngoc - captain of Ship CSB 4031- Squadron 301 said: “Participating in this contest and festival is one of the key tasks in combat training of the unit in 2020. Therefore, officers and soldiers of the ship CSB 4031 have done a good job in preparation in all aspects. We performed 2 tasks at the same time: the first task is to focus on training, manipulating the battle layout boards, completing the registration of books according to each field, following the instructions; the second task is to focus on the entire ship's content to preserve, check and repair, to ensure that weapon and technical equipment operate stably and synchronously.”

With the spirit of "Fire to test gold, challenges to test human strength" in recent times, officers, soldiers of vessels of the High Command of Coast Guard Region 3 have actively overcome difficulties, taking advantage of the time to practice combat layout tables; actively maintaining, painting and beautifying ships with more than 31,673 hours of labor. They cleaned, painted, repaired, and preserved a total of more than 10,400 m2 of ship body, repaired more than 80 items of weapon and technical equipment on ships, boats, motorbikes, saving over 300 million dong for the budget.

According to the Organizing Committee, the quality of the participating units this year outperformed the previous years, typically the system of tables, rules, regulations, warning signs on ships are strengthened. The maintenance, painting and repair of weapon and technical devices in ships and boats were performed well; the bunkers, warehouses ... were clean. Officers and soldiers mastered well skills related to the exploitation, operation, preservation and repair of weapon and technical devices. The system of technical documents and books in ships is sufficient in quantity, registered in accordance with regulations, and preserved well; the "regular, model" ship regulations are strengthened, maintained seriously and in accordance with regulations.
