The names of late comedian Robin Williams and World Cup 2014 are two queries that have been searched the most this year by people in the world and Vietnam respectively, according to the Google’s 2014 Year in Search announced on Tuesday.

The report showcases the people, topics, events, and places that captured the world’s attention this year, from overall global trends to hundreds of the top 10 lists of trending topics across pop culture, sports, music, politics, news, and more from over 70 countries. This is Google’s 14th annual yearly look at the trillions of searches performed globally throughout the year.

Robin Williams is on top of the global trending searches’ chart, followed by “World Cup,” “Ebola,” “MH370,” “ALS Ice Bucket Challenge,” “Flappy Bird” (a game developed by a local developer), “Conchita Wurst”, an Austrian stage drag queen who won Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Denmark, “ISIS,” “Frozen,” and “Sochi Olympics.”

According to Google, people have had more active searches. For example, in the wake of the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, people stayed hopeful for a happy ending despite the dim odds: searches for “mh370 found” outnumbered searches for “mh370 lost.”

iPhone 6 is on top of Global Consumer Electronics searches in 2014, followed by Samsung Galaxy S5, Nexus 6, Moto G, Samsung Note 4, LG G3, Xbox One, Apple Watch, Nokia X, and iPad Air.

Top trending searches this year in Vietnam are diverse. Sport takes the first place with “World Cup 2014” which also makes to Top Searches on Mobile. The song “Con buom xuan” (spring butterfly) comes second while Flappy Bird is in third place. Other top searched queries are 5s Online, iPhone 6, and Hoai Lam (i.e. the singer who has been known after the gameshow “Guong mat than quen” on VTV3), among others.
