VietNamNet Bridge – Google Inc announced on July 2 the launch of three new search tools in Vietnamese - Knowledge Graph, Voice search on Android and Google handwrite.
It said the new tools will help Vietnamese people find information on the web more quickly and efficiently.
Amy Kunrojpanya, head of public affairs and communications in Greater Mekong Sub-region for Google Asia Pacific, said the launch of the Knowledge Graph will unlock more information from the web for Vietnamese speakers.
The Knowledge Graph, which greatly enhances the depth of search engines, was first announced for English-language users in August 2012, and has since been made available in French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Turkish, and Polish.
Today Google's Knowledge Graph includes over 570 million entities and over 18 billion attributes and connections. The Knowledge Graph is not only available on desktops but also on smart phones and tablets.
Voice Search and Google Handwrite in Vietnamese would make it much easier for Vietnamese speakers to use Google Search when on a mobile device.
The most natural way to interact with a phone is by speaking into it. Google Voice Search, which is available on devices with Android 2.0+, gives users a fast, easy and natural way to search the web by speaking queries instead of taking too much time to type out on a mobile keyboard.
Google Handwrite enables users to search by just writing letters with a finger or a stylus anywhere on user device's screen. There's no keyboard that covers half of the screen and no need for typing.
Handwrite is experimental, and works better in some browsers than others – on Android, it works best in Chrome. Handwrite is enabled for Android 2.3+ phones, Android 4.0+ tablets and for iOS5+ devices in over 30 languages.
