
While Google Inc has yet to release any official response on the issue, its representative in the Southeast Asia said on Thursday that they will take the case into consideration.
Earlier, Vietnamese users were responded with an error message saying “No route found” whenever they attempted to use the feature on Android tablets, iPads, iPhones, or mobile phones with Symbian operating system.
Meanwhile, tests via computer show that Google Maps only pinpoints the two specified places on the map, rather than showing directions connecting the two.
Local users have guessed that the temporary disconnection from early this week was due to an upgrading Google made towards the service, which is the world’s largest online map.
Google Maps officially introduced the Directions feature to Vietnamese market in January 2010.
At present, there are 55 countries worldwide that Google does not supply the service to.
