Following Nguyen Xien Road, Long Binh Ward, District 9, Ho Chi Minh City, you will come to a magnificent temple – Buu Long - with a quiet space, separate from bustling Saigon.

The pagoda has a campus with the area of more than 11ha, located on the western hill of Dong Nai River, in the Ethnic Cultural Historic Park. 

Buu Long pagoda has the unique combination of architectural style of the four countries including India, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. It was also built in the style of ancient Buddhist culture and architecture of Nguyen Dynasty in Vietnam. Therefore, Buu Long brings a distinct, unique beauty compared to other temples in the country.

In particular, this pagoda has a Gotama Cetiya tower used for worshiping the Buddha and Noble Sangha relics. It has the width of over 2,000sqm and the height of 70m. This is the magnificent and modern architecture, but it brings ancient characteristics of Suvannabhumi civilization in Southeast Asia.

The Vietnam Institute of Buddhist Studies has an officer here to do research and introduce the history of Theravada Buddhism.
