Media protects human rights: Gov’t official
A senior official has highlighted the importance of media and journalistic agencies in protecting human rights, as well as in fighting corruption and other negative practices.
The Vietnamese Party and State have always considered human beings both the goal and motive behind all socio-economic development policies, and mass media plays an essential role in bringing into full play human rights in the country, said Do Quy Doan, Deputy Minister of Information and Communication, at a seminar in Hanoi on February 23.
According to Doan, newspapers and other media agencies have actively promoted Vietnam’s achievements in establishing and safeguarding human rights over the years.
