Party leader welcomes Singaporean guest
Singapore always attaches importance to maintaining a comprehensive relationship with Vietnam and seeks to promote the partnership to a new level for the benefit of both countries.

Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean made the statement at a reception given by Le Hong Anh, Politburo member and permanent member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) Secretariat, in Hanoi on August 28.
Teo Chee Hean, who is also Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs, informed his host of the outcomes of his working session with the Public Security Ministry.
He said that he was pleased to see positive development in and benefits from the cooperative relationship between the countries in general and the CPV and the Singaporean People’s Action Party in particular.
For his part, Anh said he wanted the two countries to further boost cooperation in all aspects, including economics, trade and the judiciary.
He applauded the close cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and Singapore ’s Ministry of Home Affairs, adding that the recently signed extended agreement on crime prevention will positively contribute to the mutually beneficial relationship.
Anh also briefed his guest of recent Vietnam’s socio-economic development, Party building work as well as the relations of the CPV with other political parties including the Singaporean People’s Action Party.
Vietnam-RoK relationship sees development
Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) have established many effective cooperation mechanisms over 20 years of diplomatic ties, promoting the two countries’ strategic partnership and contributing to regional and global stability and development.
President Truong Tan Sang made the remarks on August 28 in Hanoi at a reception for a delegation of the RoK’s scholars who are attending the “For RoK-Vietnam Future” Forum and the RoK-ASEAN Cooperation Forum.
The President highly valued contributions made by the Korea Foundation to boosting the two countries’ friendship in fields of personnel training, people exchange and scientific studies.
He said he believes that activities marking 20 years of the establishment of the two countries’ diplomatic ties including the two forums co-organised by the Korea Foundation and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences will make contributions to the success of the 2012 Vietnam-RoK Friendship Year, strengthening friendship, trust and cooperation for mutual benefit.
Kim Woo Sang, President of the Korea Foundation, affirmed Vietnam and the RoK have a strong and established relationship which has been further consolidated through people-to-people exchanges, adding that this foundation will continue to help the two countries’ intellectuals promote mutual understanding.
Vietnam, Cambodia cement legislative ties
Vietnam and Cambodia have exchanged delegations at all levels to share legislative and inspection experiences as well as supporting each other at multilateral forums.
At a reception for the Chairman of the Cambodian Senate’s Committee on Finance, Banking and Audit in Hanoi on August 28, National Assembly Vice Chairman Huynh Ngoc Son underscored the significant role of the two countries’ legislative bodies in making the legal framework and policies for the development of bilateral investment cooperation to match with both sides’ potential and desires.
For his part, Chea Cheth said he hopes Vietnam will further assist Cambodia in various domains.
The same day, Chea Cheth had a meeting with Head of the Vietnamese NA’s Economic Committee Nguyen Van Giau who underlined the close relationship among the three Indochinese countries in general and between Vietnam and Cambodia in particular.
The two governments have facilitated trade and cooperation activities among the two countries’ businesses and two-way trade recorded a strong increase year on year, Giau added.
The Cambodian guest proposed Vietnam support Cambodia in implementing oil and gas exploitation projects at sea and building legal frameworks in these activities.
Vietnam, Cambodia enhance cooperation in border area
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and the National Council of the Solidarity Front for the Development of the Cambodian Motherland issued a joint communique at an international conference on building the Vietnam-Cambodia border of peace, friendship and cooperation for development in Ratanakiri province on August 28.
The event is part of activities of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Year to mark the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
The joint communique said leaders of the two fronts presented a report on the implementation of cooperation agreements and contents of the joint communique signed between the two fronts and 10 Vietnamese and 10 Cambodian provinces at their conference in 2010 in Vietnam s southern province of Tay Ninh.
According to the report, both sides have implemented the joint communique through various means. The friendly cooperation among localities along the common border plays a significant role in maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development between the two countries.
The border provinces have assisted each other in poverty reduction and maintaining security and social order. Two-way trade between border localities made up more than half of the two countries’ total.
Both sides also encouraged people in the border area to assist with landmark planting and demarcation task forces to soon complete the work.
The two sides have exchanged delegations at all levels, organized training and held regular exchange of expertise in work from central to grassroots levels.
In addition, they also encouraged and acted as a bridge for the two countries’ businesses and entrepreneurs to invest in socio-economic development projects with respect to each country’s laws and customs.
Both sides reached consensus on organizing the conference biennially to assess the implementation of cooperation agreements and agreed contents.
The two fronts will organize their delegations to annually examine activities of their cooperation agreements.
