PM asks localities to modernize administrative offices

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has asked people’s committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to improve their management of local administrative offices.

His decree 1073 on July 5 says that the provinces and cities must accelerate their process of arranging state-owned housing and land, with a focus on offices under the local state administrative agencies.

The PM asked localities with a disorganized system of administrative offices to rearrange them and improve working conditions for civil servants.

For localities that have favourable conditions, he asked them to consider investment in building concentrated administrative complexes.

Such complexes, the PM says in the decree, should meet the demand for modernizing offices and have a modern technical infrastructure, providing a comfortable venue for operations of state agencies.

Mr Dung highlighted that the location for building administration complexes must be in line with the overall master plan for urban construction approved by authorities. Construction of these complexes must also take into account topographical, climatic, and geological features of each area and region, he stressed.

The PM’s decree requests local governments to select appropriate forms of mobilizing investment for building the complexes in an effective and economical way.
