The complaints were from Nguyen Thi Thom and some residents from Ben Binh B residential area of Thuy Nguyen District’s Tan Duong Commune, Tiền Phong (Vanguard) newspaper reported.

Their complaints related to the land acquisition process for the construction of technical infrastructure for a new urban area north of Cam River in Tan Duong Commune.

The Government Inspectorate will be required to report its results to the Prime Minister in May.

The new urban area project was started on August 17, 2017 by Hai Phong Urban Development Construction Management Board.

The project, which has a total investment of nearly VND10 trillion (US$434.7 million), was scheduled to be complete within two years.

However, the project has been proceeding at a snail’s pace due to land clearance problems.

The project will include technical infrastructure systems, main traffic systems, a dyke on the left side of Cam River and the 1,138 metre Hoang Van Thu Bridge.
