Host suppliers were ordered to check servers that store digital information of Government agencies and immediately report to Vietnam Computer Emergency Response Team of serious lapses faced by important information systems so that the team can adopt timely measures to deal with the problem.
The ministry instructed agencies to report of computer breakdowns that have occurred since early this year.
The order followed reports that several Vietnamese websites, including portals of many government agencies and news websites, have been hacked recently.
According to CMC Information Security, over 300 Vietnamese websites were hacked from early May to early June.
On June 2 alone, hackers CmTr hacked 200 Vietnamese websites.
