VietNamNet Bridge - Famous singer Monica Denise Brown arrived at the Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi at 10pm, September 5. She comes to Hanoi to perform at the Hennessy Concert, scheduled to take place at My Dinh National Convention Centre on September 7.
She will share the stage with Japanese rock band, Okamoto, and young Vietnamese singer Phuong Vy, who won the 2007 Vietnam Idol 2007 competition.
Monica, born in 1980, is an American singer, songwriter, and occasional actress. Her first album “Miss Thang” was released in 1995 and became a top hit on the US Billboard Hot R&B Singles chart.
Monica’s second album, “The Boy Is Mine,” earned her an international reputation and helped her win a Grammy Award.
In 2003, her album “After the Storm” was number one on the Billboard Top 200 list, and “The Makings of Me” debuted at number one on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop albums chart.
Monica’s recent album, “Still Standing,” is a number one hit that earned her a nomination for the best female R&B singer at the Grammy Awards.
