President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts and ethics stay forever in Vietnamese people’s hearts, leading the Vietnam revolution to all victories, said Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

On May 18, President Ho Chi Minh’s 125th birthday anniversary was ceremoniously marked in Hanoi, attended by numerous senior leaders, revolutionary veterans, heroic mothers and representatives from diplomatic corps and armed forces.

In his speech, Party leader Trong praised late President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday celebration as a sacred anniversary and a great day for Vietnamese people for decades.

The life and career of President Ho Chi Minh is an epic, a shining example of patriotism, communist qualities, erudite intellectuality and revolutionary morality and a great source of encouragement for many Vietnamese generations, he said.

Under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh and the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), the Vietnamese revolution overcame incalculable difficulties and challenges to win one victory to another. It was the victory of the August Revolution and the establishment of the Vietnam Democratic Republic, the first State mastered by the people in the nation's history.

The Party chief also highlighted Vietnam’s resounding victories in the resistance war against French colonialism and US imperialism under the clear-sighted leadership of President Ho Chi Minh, adding that these victories are of great significance for the current national construction and development process.
