The People’s Committee of Thua Thien- Hue province yesterday said that the central province granted a cemetery land for late musician Trinh Cong Son according to his family wishes.

Thus, the grave of the musician will be moved from Go Dua cemetery in Ho Chi Minh City to the ancient imperial capital of Hue which is his hometown.
The People’s Committee of Thua Thien- Hue province assigned the Department of Construction in collaboration with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Hue Urban Environment and Public Works Joint Stock Company, the People’s Committee of Huong Thuy commune and relevant agencies to complete procedures of granting the cemetery land.
Trinh Cong Son who was famous as a musician, painter and poet was born in Buon Ma Thuot city of Dak Lak province in February 28, 1939 but he grew up in the ancient imperial capital of Hue.
He wrote more than 600 songs in his songwriting career before passing away at age of 62.
Most of his songs praised loves for people, the country and peace through meaningful lyrics bringing the color of existentialism philosophy.
Recently, Google Doodles honored Trinh Cong Son on the Google search page in Vietnam on the occasion of the 80th birthday of the late musician. This is the first time Google Doodles has honored a Vietnamese person.
According to Deputy Chairman of the People’s Committee of Thua Thien- Hue province, the work expressed deep gratitude to the talented musician, a child of the ancient imperial capital, with great contributions to the Vietnamese music industry.
As expected, the relocation of the grave of Trinh Cong Son will create a new cultural destination, art space and tourism for domestic and foreign tourists.
