Lambrinidis said at a joint press conference with Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski that he hoped the EU comes out of its crisis stronger and more united.

Asked to comment on Thursday's crisis euro summit in Brussels which will debate additional financial aid for Greece, Lambrinidis assured that his country would "account for every euro it receives."

According to the minister, Greece's problems were present throughout the EU.

"We must try to find solutions for the situation in Spain, Portugal and Italy. We must undertake joint steps," the Greek foreign minister insisted.

He said Greece was "undertaking a huge effort."

"Greeks today are suffering under reforms, but these changes are necessary," he said.

Sikorski, for his part, assured of Poland's support for Greece.
