A direct service connecting Guangzhou, China and Nha Trang city in central Khanh Hoa province by China Southern Airlines went into operation on June 20.
The service’s first plane, coded CZ604, landed at the local Cam Ranh international airport with 140 Chinese passengers on board.
The direct route will have three return flights per week using Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
According to Luyen Manh Cuong, Director of the Khanh Hoa Tourism Promotion Information Centre, the Chinese airline intents to run the Guangzhou – Nha Trang route daily from mid July.
Statistics from the Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism showed that in the first four months of this year alone, more than 29,000 Chinese tourists visited the province, an annual increase of 69 percent.
