Hubert Laot, auditorium manager of Guimet Museum, which specializes in Asian art in Paris, France, will have a talk show at 9 a.m. at Hoa Sen University in HCMC on July 4.

The free-entry talk will focus on the museum’s attention to folk music of Vietnam, and also feature folk music performances by Huong Thanh, a Vietnamese singer who now lives in France, British guitarist Jason Carter and other traditional music instrumentalists from Hanoi.

Huong Thanh is seen as one of the Vietnamese artists who have contributed significantly to spreading Vietnam’s folk music in the world. More importantly, she has found ways to connect Vietnam’s traditional music with that of other countries.
