Gunner Hoang Xuan Vinh is the successful athlete of Vietnam at the 2012 Olympic Games. Ranking ninth in the men’s 10m air pistol and the fourth in the men’s 50m pistol, Vinh has a strong advancement on the Asian rankings.
In particular, in the men’s 50m pistol event, Vinh jumps from the 33rd before the Olympics to the 6th position, with a score of 1279. Leading in this content are two Korean athletes, Jin Jongoh (5498) and Choi Young-Rae (2694), followed by two Chinese gunners Wang Zhiwei (2175) and Zhang Tian (1720). From the 3rd position, Japanese gunner Matsuda Tomoyuki drops to the fifth with 1505 points.
