She ranked 85th out of 192 players with 51,033 points.
Hai Phong City native Thanh has previously earned an Olympics spot when it was held in 2012 in London after winning a bronze medal in the world championships in 2011.
More than 500 gymnasts from over 80 countries around the world are competing in the event.
