VietNamNet Bridge –The Corps of Engineers of the Ha Giang Province Military Command is tasked to clear explosives in the province. The unit is working in some villages of Xin Man commune, Xin Man district.
Every morning, at 5.45, the soldiers are on duty in the village of Ta Tung Ngai.
The soldiers are responsible for detecting and clearing explosives in an area of 20 hectares in the commune of Xin Man in 2013.
To search and identify explosives and landmines, one of the stages that the soldiers have to do is detecting and processing signals at the depth of 7cm and then at a depth of 30 cm.
A soldier detected and handled a 652-A mine, which is usually buried at the depth of 3 - 5cm. With just 2kg of pressure on the mine, it will explode. 652-A mine has lethal radius of 0.5 m.
Lieutenant Do Tien Dung, deputy commander of the Corps of Engineers of Ha Giang, handled a K58 mine, which has a damage radius of 1.5 m.
