The event themed “Preserving and promoting cultural identity of Mong People in the country’s renewal, integration and development period” will have activities related to the ethnic Mong such as a pan-pipe festival, a traditional costume display, folk song performances, cuisine, and native products.

Seventeen provinces nationwide with a large number of Mong will also participate in the festival.

Viet Nam has about 800,000 Mong people, one of the country’s ethnic minorities with a large population. Most Mong live in mountainous areas at a height of 700 metres to 1,500 metres above sea level in the north, north-central and Central Highlands regions.
