VietNamNet Bridge – The Ha Noi Party Committee held a conference on Thursday to review its activities in 2015 and put forward key tasks for this year.

The tasks include early preparations for the committee's activities, stepping up dissemination of the city's policies over residents and authorities at all levels, safety and urban civilisation; and taking effective steps to implement Party building tasks issued at the fourth session of the 11th Party Central Committee (Resolution 4) attached to the campaign of "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's moral example".

The municipal Party Committee also aims to organise successful elections for National Assembly deputies (14th tenure) and People's Councils members at all levels for the 2016-2021 tenure, which fall on May 22 this year.

Other tasks are to enhance the Party Organisation's leadership and strengthen the quality of Party members.

The gathering also outlined the committee's goals in its 16th tenure from 2015 to 2020. They are set to focus on Party and political system building, agriculture and rural area development, economic growth, socio-cultural development, ensuring security and national defence, developing urban infrastructure, fighting corruption and waste, and administrative reform.

Addressing the event, Politburo member Pham Quang Nghi praised the municipal Party's successful completion of its assigned tasks in 2015, saying the city had successfully curbed inflation over the past four years.

Thanks to the leadership and participation of the entire political system, public awareness of the urban order had improved, he said.

The city's relations with provinces and cities in Viet Nam and other countries had improved, helping raise the city's position and reputation, he added.
