VietNamNet Bridge – Ha Noi People's Committee has approved VND5 billion (US$240,000) for prostitution prevention and control this year.
Half of the sum will be spent on providing medical treatment for 600 prostitutes, job training for 150 and re-integration into the community for 300. It will also help provide support for 62 HIV-infected children.


About VND540 million ($26,000) will go to the city's police department to help fight against prostitution, including a crackdown in three hotspots: Thien Quang lake in Hoan Kiem District, Gia Lam Station in Long Bien District and Lieu Giai Street in Ba Dinh District.


Money will also be spent on communication campaigns.
