VietNamNet Bridge – The Ha Noi People's Committee yesterday, Feb 8, approved a VND1.2 trillion (US$ 57.4 million) proposal for Ha Noi Transport and Services Corporation (Transerco) to operate 49 additional city bus routes, including five routes exclusively serving municipal employees.

The Ha Noi Department of Transport's Transport Management and Operation Centre will oversee the purchasing of buses and plans for their safe operation.

The department is additionally working with relevant agencies to submit a plan to Ha Noi People's Committee to set new bus fares through 2015.

Transerco served about 410 million commuters in the city last year, accounting for 92 per cent of public transit services, according to Transerco.
