German luxury liner Bremen carrying 750 foreign tourists moored for the first time at Sai Gon Port on Tuesday in HCM City.

* City to inspect construction sites

HCM City transport inspectors will inspect construction sites across the city to ensure they are using adequate traffic barriers that ensure the safety of passing motorists.

Fines for not installing adequate traffic barriers can be as high as VND40 million (US$2,000). Construction sites whose permits have expired will have to suspend their work.

Inspections showed that many investors in construction projects often violate regulations on traffic and safety barriers, lack adequate warning signs and discharge waste water onto the road to cut costs.
