VietNamNet Bridge – At 1am, September 4, environmental police officers of the central province of Ha Tinh seized a car that transported four baby tigers and around 400kg of pangolins.

This is the largest tiger trafficking case in Ha Tinh. Major Dang Quang Niem, vice chief of the Ha Tinh Environment Police Department, said that the arrest was carried out at 1am today, on National Highway 8A in Duc Tho district.

Being informed by local people, police officers ambushed for several hours along the road. At nearly 1am, a Toyota Camry car with two men inside was stopped for checking. Policemen found out around 400kg of pangolins and four living tigers in the car.


The two men are identified as Ho Sy Hanh, 36, and Bui Van Muoi, 33, both from the central province of Nghe An.

They said they were hired to transport the animals.

The four tigers are weighed 22.5kg and 119 pangolins total 422kg.

The animals will be handed over to the local forest management agency to release back to nature.

Police are investigating the case.
