VietNamNet Bridge - On October 8, the Police Bureau of Thuy Nguyen District, Hai Phong City, said that the man who shot Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, 44, in Nui Deo town, Thuy Nguyen district on October 3, had surrendered and handed over his weapon.

According to the police, on the afternoon of October 3, Hoa, Nguyen Van An, 46, from Uong Bi city, Quang Ninh province and a few people were talking together at the headquarters of the Nam Hai Duong Trading Company, in Gia Minh commune, Thuy Nguyen district.

At that time, Nguyen Binh Chuong, 38, from Uong Bi city, was speaking with An and Hoa asked Chuong to lower his voice.

Unexpectedly, the man who accompanied Chuong approached Hoa, drew a pistol and shot him. The bullet made a hole on Hoa’s left cheek. Hoa was taken to the hospital for emergency aid.

At 3pm the same day, a group of men on two cars went to Chuong’s coal processing enterprise. They used sticks to smash windows, television, refrigerator, air conditioning and some appliances.

The police have identified the one who shot Hoa is Nguyen Van De, 29, from An Duong district, Hai Phong. Chuong is uncle of De’s wife.

De gave up himself to the police, with one gun, one bullet, after several days of hiding.

De confessed that while playing cards with Hoa several days ago, he suspected Hoa of cheating. The two sides had friction. On October 3, De met Hoa again. He threatened Hoa by his homemade handgun but Hoa was not afraid. He loudly challenged De to shoot at him so De opened fire.

De said he picked up the gun during a ride.

The police are investigating the case.
