VietNamNet Bridge – Replying to the proposal to remove the handwriting and mental calculation practices from the primary education curriculum, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) said both the practices are necessary and need to be upheld.
VietNamNet Bridge – The experts from the Hanoi University of Education believe that primary school students should be given time to learn useful knowledge instead of practicing writing.
While parents believe that teachers should not spend time to practice handwriting for their children, educators have been insisting that this is a very important and necessary work to do.
Both parents and educators believe that there’s no need to spend too much time for students to practice handwriting, saying that in the digital age, there are many other things they need to practice than handwriting.
